I was fortunate to skate with Maxim and compete at the same competitions as him being from the East Coast and representing both the North Atlantic and New England Region . I always saw him and his Dad at Sumsbury, CT rink where they are originally from. We shared the same ice at the Eastern Sectionals at the Ashburn Ice House. I have also skated at the old Skating Club of Boston rink, the Medstar Capitals rink, and skating club of Delaware. It crushes me to find out that my coaches knew Sasha and one of them taught his previously taught his Duaghter. One of my previous adult students also skated on the same ice as the young ice dance team. I also know many of the young skaters and their coaches who were just at the National Development Camp in Wichita where all of the athletes were flying home from. I am grieving for my fellow skaters, coaches, and all of the families whose loved ones were involved. There is a huge gap in the skating community which will never be replaced. We will remember their legacy and lives forever in our hearts. 💔🙏😭
I will be attending the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships in Boston where they will be honoring the skaters. Hopefully it will bring a little bit of solace to the skating community and the loved ones of all involved. 🕊️🤍
